A man was booked on Thursday (April 19) for gang raping his 35-year-old daughter in Sitapur city in Uttar Pradesh along with his two friends.

As per an article in Hindustan Times, the Additional SP (South) Martand Prakash Singh said, “The woman has a son. She married almost 20 years ago. However, she separated from her husband and was living with her father.”

The horrific incident, which took place on April 15, happened around 70 kms away from UP’s capital Lucknow. As per the police, the father took his daughter to an annual fair in Kamlapur where he asked his friend Maan Singh to join him. The police also said that Maan Singh was a partner in crime to the victim’s father in multiple crimes.

The two men (father of the victim and Maan Singh) convinced the victim to ride with them on a bike to their friend Meraj’s residence. As per the police, the three accused then locked the victim in a room for almost 18 hours and raped her in turns. While the UP police arrested one of the three accused, the victim’s father and other accused still remain absconding.

The victim narrated the entire incident to her mom after she managed to somehow escape and that’s when she eventually filed a police complaint against the accused. Last year in November, the village panchayat had accused the father of having an illicit relationship with his daughter, for which he was arrested but released on bail in February this year.
