Actor-turned-politician Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari promised to adopt a slum in Delhi every six months to develop it through his MPLAD funds.

Tiwari, who’s an MP from North-East Delhi, visited Kheda Basti in Seemapuri. He interacted with the residents and assured that the slums, which would be adopted y him would be developed into Model Basti on the lines of Centre’s Adarsh Gram Yojna.

Tiwari said, “I have tried to understand the problems of slum dwellers ever since I became an MP. All I can say is that they are ready to pay for development and facilities.”

Union minister Vijay Goel, like Tiwari, visited slums in Timarpur and Model Town to promote his campaign ‘Adopt A Slum.’ Goel started the campaign, under which the BJP councillors would adopt slums for their development.
