March 28: Kerala records first death due to Coronavirus

On Saturday (March 28), Kerala recorded its first death due to Coronavirus, which has infected over 5.5 million people worldwide. The 69- year-old man, who lost his life to the disease, was being treated at Kalamassery Medical College in Kochi.

As per reports, the man, who had a travel history to Dubai, was admitted on March 22 with symptoms of pneumonia but later he was tested positive for the coronavirus.

The man’s wife and the cab driver who received him at the airport have also contracted the virus and are undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

So far, more than 170 people in Kerala have tested positive for the virus.
