Mayawati ‘neck deep in corruption’: UP minister

Swami Prasad Maurya, a minister from the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, said that BSP chief Mayawati is ‘neck deep in corruption.’ The BJP leader drawing parallels between Mayawati and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that there’s a similarity between the two. According to a report in The Times of India, he said, “I had said that there is similarity between Mayawati and Adityanath. She wanted that rule of law should be established in the state, we also want that the rule of law be established in the state. We want there should be good governance, she also wanted good governance. There is only one difference that Mayawati was neck deep in corruption, while Adityanath is contributing in making India corruption free.”

Maurya, when asked to compare the law and order situation in UP during the Mayawati and Adityanath’s rule, he said that Mayawati was famous for being a strict administrator. He said Mayawati and Yogi Adityanath government was much better than the Samajwadi Party government.”

Swami Prasad Maurya Maurya praised the BJP chief by saying that Mayawati’s regime was good and there were no second thoughts about it. Maurya, who was the cabinet minister during the previous BSP and the SP rule, said he was quoted out of context by the media.
