After receiving a great response to its first outlet at newly-opened Trillium Mall in Nagpur, McDonald’s plans to open more outlets in the orange city in the coming two years. Nagpur’s first Mcdonald’s outlet opened its doors for food lovers on August 9, 2019. It is the fast food chain giant’s 182nd outlet in the western region comprising Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhatisgarh and half of Madhya Pradesh.

Addressing the media persons during a press conference, Saurabh Kalra (Senior Director, Business Operations and Strategy, McDonald’s India – West and South) said, “In the coming two years, we plan to open five to six outlets. Till now we did not open any outlet in Nagpur because of logistical problems. However, now that we have started one, it will be in our interest to expand.”

Kalra also informed that McDonald’s in Nagpur plans to start home delivery of its food items soon through the McDonald’s app and with the help of aggregators such as Swiggy and Zomato. The reason behind not starting the delivery right now is because of the heavy influx of customers at the newly-opened outlet at Trillium Mall. A McCafe will be opened in six weeks to start the delivery.

As per Kalra, McDonald’s had chosen a place in West Nagpur for an outlet but didn’t go ahead with the plan because the building did not have an occupancy certificate.
