NMRCL commences metro rail construction work at Ram Jhula crossing

Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL) has commenced metro rail construction work near Mayo Hospital at Ram Jhula crossing.

→ Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL) has commenced metro rail construction work near Mayo Hospital at Ram Jhula crossing. Four girders and pillars were recently constructed with the help of a crane having a load capacity of 220 tons.

→ The weight of every girder is 45 tons and the height of every pillar is 13 meters. It took four hours to construct 22 meters of girder on the pillars. The girders have been placed on the modern Neoprene Pad bearings.

→ Interestingly, many Nagpurians were a witness to this construction at Central Avenue which is one of the busiest roads in Nagpur. To control the traffic NMRCL had to appoint traffic wardens.

→ NMRCL’s Managing Director Brijesh Dixit afterwards visited the site after the launching of the girders to inspect the work done. He also shared important information regarding the metro project with the officials.
