MLC Polls: Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray declares assets worth Rs 143 crore

In his maiden election affidavit filed on Monday (May 11), Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray disclosed that he along with his family owns assets worth Rs 143.26 crore. CM Thackeray and his family have movable assets worth Rs 61.89 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 81.37 crore.

Thackeray, who is second member from his family after his son Aaditya Thackeray to contest an election, filled his nomination for the MLC polls, which are slated to happen on May 21.

CM Thackeray, in his maiden election affidavit, listed salary, interest, dividend and capital gain as his sources of income. The affidavit also mentions that his wife Rashmi Thackeray, who is the editor of ‘Saamana’, Shiv Sena party mouthpiece, earns income through different businesses.

CM Thackeray also declared liabilities of Rs 15.50 crore including loans worth Rs 4.06 crore. Interestingly, the CM also declared that he does not own a car.
