Popular storyteller and poet Mohammed Sadriwala left the audience speechless with his fantastic story telling as he performed at ‘Toh Ek Baar Hua Yun’ organised by Dark Room Poets recently at Desi House Cafe in Nagpur.
Mohammed Sadriwala is a well-known poet from Mumbai. From being invited by BBC INDIA to perform for INDO-PAK collaboration event and by National Geographic for World Environment Day to becoming a household name with his viral story ‘Proud to be an Indian,’ Sadriwala is known for his versatile story telling with emotions ranging from social issues to light hearted content.
During the event, along with Sadriwala some other Nagpur story tellers like Tejal, Deepak, Deepika and Prachi also recited stories and poetries. The poetic evening took the audience on a roller coaster of emotions. People were seen in tears in one moment and then laughing in other.
Before the performance in the evening, Sadriwala also conducted a workshop, which began with an introduction to storytelling and poetry writing. The workshop was followed by an interesting activity, during which attendees were divided into five groups and were asked to write a poem or a story. Vivid imaginations and different ideas were observed during this activity.
