Dispelling the notion that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is no match to PM Narendra Modi, Congress leader and MP Jyotiraditya Scindia said that Gandhi could definitely match Modi. He added, “He will challenge Modi and the Congress will go to people with the blueprint that party and Rahul Gandhi are working on.”
Speaking further about the junior Gandhi, the Congress MP said, “Rahul Gandhi should become Congress president tomorrow.”
Scindia even advised the party to recalibrate its strategy due to fast changing political spectrum of the country so that the party can stay in the game.
“It was high time for the Congress to take certain decisions about the future course of action. We need to internally correct ourselves. It’s important for us to take decisions today that too efficiently and energetically.”
When asked about the in-fights within the Congress, Scindia replied, “Will have to move from ‘mera, tera to humara attitude.”
Focusing on states for revival
Scindia said that Congress should focus on states for its revival. “In many states, people want a change. The Congress must have strategy for states,” he said.
Scindia also said that the Congress should devise different strategy for different states. “ The party is working on a strategy, which would be out in few months. The Congress will work on its strategy for all future Assembly elections to the parliamentary polls in 2019,” added Scindia.
