Mrinal Kulkarni’s father-in-law, noted Marathi actor Jairam Kulkarni passes away at 88

Noted Marathi actor and popular actress Mrunal Kulkarni’s father-in-law Jairam Kulkarni passed away on Tuesday morning at the age of 88 due to old age related ailments in Pune. The veteran actor is survived by his wife Hema, son Ruchir and daughter-in-law Mrinal.

Jairam Kulkarni, who acted in more than 150 films, was born in Barshi tehsil in Solapur district and then moved to Pune for higher studies from SP College. He also worked at All India Radio.

However, he had to quit his job to travel to Mumbai to work in films in 1970. Some of his most popular films are Chal Re Laxya Mumbaila, Ashi Hi Banwabanwi, Thartharat, and Rangat Sangat to name a few. His last movie Khel Aayushyacha was released recently.

Mourning the death of her father-in-law, Mrinal took to Instagram and posted a picture of him saying “Veteran character actor Jayram Kulkarni…My father-in-law…my pillar of strength… lost him today…”
