Mrs Maharashtra 2016 Nagpur auditions proved to be a great platform for married women to showcase their glamour quotient. These yummy mummies put their best fashion foot forward in the auditions, which took place for the first time in Nagpur at The Pride Hotel on September 24. Enthusiasm among the contestants was quite palpable as they lapped up Mrs Maharashtra pageant as an opportunity to chase their unfulfilled dreams of becoming beauty queens. These women, between the age group of 26 to 48 years, sizzled the ramp in the dazzling dresses and gowns.
Mrs Maharashtra auditions were judged by Asma Upare (Mrs India 2016 – Mrs Talented), Farha Anwar (Mrs India 2016 – Runner up) and Shilpa Agrawal (Mrs India Globe 2015 – 1st runner up), who grilled all the contestants with volley of questions. The Nagpur finalists will be competing with other contestants from Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur and Aurangabad at the finale, which will be held in Pune on October 24, 2016.
When Nation Next correspondent spoke to Mrs India Globe 2015 (1st runner up) Shilpa Agrawal, she said, “These contestants were amazing! We judges had a tough time selecting the best one. They just need slight more exposure and grooming. There is abundant talent in each one of them but I feel some more of personality development would do no harm. It will just enhance their beauty and boost their confidence. As Mrs Maharashtra is a beauty pageant, I feel all contestants should devote some time for their daily fitness regime. I learnt that these contestants weren’t giving realistic answers. I feel the contestants should try answering the questions from their heart, rather than giving cliched answers. As contestants across five cities of Maharashtra would be participating in the finale, Nagpur contestants would have to prove their mettle by giving their best shot. I desperately want Nagpur’s contestant to win the title because if I can, everybody can!”
Organisers of the beauty pageant were Diva Events and Jazzmatazz.
