As per a report in Mid-Day, billionaire Indian industrialist Mukesh Ambani may co-produce Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s magnum opus Mahabharata. Mid-Day quoted insiders saying that Ambani will co-produce Aamir’s most ambitious film project for the big screen.
The report however does not specify whether Ambani will produce through a separate company or through his entities Jio and Viacom 18, in which he holds a controlling stake. Ambani has previously invested in entertainment companies like Eros and Balaji Telefilms.
Mahabharata, is apparently going to keep Aamir busy for the next five years – the reason because of which he turned down the lead role in Mahesh Mathai’s biopic on cosmonaut Rakesh Sharma. There are also rumours doing the rounds that Mahabharata will be made on a budget of a staggering Rs 1,000 crore.
