Mumbai’s shopping malls, multiplexes, eateries can stay open 24×7 from Jan 27: Aaditya Thackeray

2020 couldn’t get any better for Mumbaikars as from January 27, 2020 all the city’s shopping malls, multiplexes and restaurants can stay open 24×7 as per a report in Hindustan Times. However, the establishments, which serve alcohol, can stay open till 1:30 am. State cabinet tourism minister Aaditya Thackeray took the decision in a meeting on Thursday.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Mumbai Police have granted the permission for establishments that fall under ‘gated communities,’ and non-residential areas, that can stay open day and night from January 27.

As per HT, “Some of the malls that have agreed for the 24×7 implementation are Atria Mall in Worli, R-City Mall in Ghatkopar, Oberoi Mall in Goregaon, Growel’s 101 in Kandivli Phoenix Market City in Kurla and High Street Phoenix in Lower Parel.”
