Mumbai’s Wockhardt, Jaslok Hospital sealed as doctors, nurses test +ve for COVID-19

Wockhardt Hospital, situated in Mumbai Central, and Jaslok Hospital, situated on Peddar Road, have been sealed after several doctors, nurses and other staff members tested positive for COVID-19.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has declared the both the hospitals as containment zone and will ensure that no person exits or enters the premise till all patients in the hospital test negative twice.

While 26 nurses and three doctors tested positive at Wockhardt Hospital, 10 staffers including six nurses at Jaslok Hospital are COVID-19 positive as per a report in India Today.

Wockhardt got its first case of Coronavirus when a 70-year-old patient got admitted to the hospital for angioplasty on March 27. The man later tested positive for Coronavirus. Later, one of the staffers, who came in contact with the patient also tested positive. Later, a doctor staying near Dharavi and working at the hospital also tested positive.

Jaslok got its first case of COVID-19 when a nurse tested positive. The patient she was attending to at the time had no travel history or symptoms of COVID-19. Later a ward boy also tested positive.
