Nagpur: 20-year-old boy struck by lightning, dies

In an unfortunate incident, a 20-year-old boy lost his life after he was struck by the lightning on June 12 at Sanjay Gandhi Nagar near ring road in Nagpur.

As per the police, the victim Saurabh Shyamsundar Lande (20), a resident Bhavnagar, was travelling with his friend Anurag Nandusingh Dahikar (18) on a bike. As the two boys were travelling from Manewada to Kharbi via ring road at around 5:00 pm, it started to rain.

The boys took shelter under a banyan tree. While Saurabh was using his mobile phone, the lightning struck him and Anurag throwing them on the footpath. An injured Saurabh was immediately rushed to a government hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

After Anurag explained the incident at Hudkeshwar Police Station, a case of accidental death was registered by police constable Shailesh.
