Twenty-year-old Lucky Sundar Ganveer allegedly killed his 70-year-old grandmother Raulabai Ramdas Ganveer by smashing her head with heavy stone on Tuesday at their home in Manavta Nagar slums in Gittikhadan at Nagpur.

As per the police, the accused Lucky Sundar Ganvir was staying at her grandmother Raulabai Ramdas Ganvir’s house along with his sister Nikita. Lucky was not approving of the relationship Nikita had with Satish Raghuram Ravidas (24) since the last two years. For the same reason, Lucky would regularly beat and abuse his sister much to his grandmother’s dismay.

On March 2, at around 3 am, the police got a call that Raulabai has been murdered at her house. After the police reached her house, they started questioning Lucky. During the questioning, it came to light that Raulabai had a fight with Lucky over him beating his sister. When Raulabai abused Lucky, who was drunk, he got angry and killed his grandmother with a big rock.

On the basis of a complaint by Sarita Sundar Ganvir, Lucky’s mother, Gittikhadan Police have arrested him and booked him under section 302 of the IPC.
