Nagpur: 70-year-old COVID-19 positive man dies at IGGMCH

A 70-year-old man, who was admitted to IGGMCH in Nagpur on April 21 after testing positive for coronavirus, died on Wednesday. The man, however, did not die because of coronavirus but as a result of complications due to high blood pressure, as per Dr Sagar Pande, Deputy Medical Superitendent, IGGMCH.

Dr Pandey told Nation Next, “The patient had a high blood pressure problem and because of that he suddenly collapsed in the morning today. The patient was coronavirus positive but his cause of death is not the virus.” Dr Pande also informed that the man was from Mominpura.

So far, 135 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Nagpur. While two men have died, 41 have been cured and discharged and rest are undergoing treatment at IGGMCH and GMCH.
