Nagpur airport records second highest growth in domestic passengers in Maharashtra

With nearly 2.08 million passengers in the year 2018-19, compared to 1.7 million in 2017-18, Nagpur airport – Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport – recorded second highest growth in the number of domestic passengers in 2018 as reported in Hindustan Times, .

Pune International Airport or Lohegaon International Airport stood first in the state for highest increase of domestic passengers with 7.8 million in year 2018-19 from almost 6.5 million in 2017-18. However, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai stood third with 34.8 million in 2018-19 from 32.7 million in 2017-18.

Percentage wise growth of domestic passengers in three states were: Pune (21.2%), Nagpur (16.7%) and Mumbai (6.5%). The total number of international passengers in Nagpur airport decreased from 1.09 lakh in 2017-18 to 1.06 lakh in 2018-19.
