Government officials from different sectors, who are working in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic to keep the society running, face a major risk of contracting COVID-19. A typical government office receives anywhere between 5 and 100 visitors on any given day. When meeting officers, some visitors pull up their chairs too close, some do not wars masks, some sneeze openly and some extend their hand for a handshake.
To safeguard government officials from such incidents, two youngsters, Arshad and Adnan Musa, have developed ‘Corona Glass Guard.’ The Musa brothers, who are both post gradates from international universities, are engaged in a 60-year-old family owned glass business – Fancy Frame Glass Stores.
The Corona Glass Guard is a 2 feet (Height) x 3 feet (width) tall self-supporting glass partition with three sides. It can be put atop an official’s desk, separating him/her completely from the person sitting across thereby blocking all airborne particles and spontaneous handshakes. The guard is simple to install – it needs only a tiny bit of space on your desk – and is very easy to clean – just spray it with some sanitizer and wipe clean with a soft cloth.
So far, the Musa brothers have donated Corona Glass Guards to PI Kawadu Uikey from Shantinagar Police Station, Dr Yogendra Savai, (Chief Medical Officer, NMC), Dr Sadna Rayalu (Chief Scientist, NEERI), Vijay Humane (Assistant Commisioner, NMC, Satranjipura) and Umred MLA Raju Parwe.
