The Nagpur chapter of NARCHI (National Association of Reproductive and Child Health of India) recently conducted an installation ceremony to induct its office bearers for the period 2018-2022 at Hotel Centre Point. Prominent guests present during the installation ceremony were Dr Anuradha Shrikhande (Dean, IGGMC) and Dr Shakuntala Chhabra (Emeritus Professor, MGIMS).
While Dr Kshama Kedar was inducted as the president of the Nagpur chapter, Dr Alka Mukerjee took the charge as the secretary. Apart from Dr Kedar and Dr Mukherjee, other office bearers include: Dr Nirmala Vaze (National President Elect), Dr Pragati Khalatkar (Immediate Past President), Dr Deepti Kiratkar and Dr Vaidehi Marathe (Vice Presidents), Dr Swati Bhave (Treasurer), Dr Ujjwala Kedare (Joint Secretary) and Dr Rajasi Sengupta (Clinical Secretary) along with other executive members and advisors.
The installation ceremony of the Nagpur Chapter of NARCHI was followed by a ‘Continuing Medical Education’ program on the topic: Adolescent Health. Dr Anupama Anand and Dr Sushil Gawande spoke on ‘Adolescent Obesity’ and ‘Behaviorial Problems in Adolescents,’ respectively in the first session, which was chaired by Dr Raj Bhojwani, Dr Alka Kumar and Dr Sulabha Joshi. In the second session, which was chaired by Dr Vaishali Kubde, Dr Meena Patil and Dr Dipti Jain, Poonam Varma and Dr Sarogi spoke on the topics ‘Adolescent Abuse – Security is the solution?’ and ‘PCOS in Adolescents’ respectively.
