Thakre, while completely rubbishing Wanve’s claims, told Nation Next, “I don’t remember seeing Tanaji Wanve at all during the rally. His claims are baseless. He doesn’t have anything to do and that’s why he’s saying all this. If anybody has seen me talking to him during the rally, I will resign from my post of city president.”

Thakre added, “Leaders like Rajendra Mulak, Nitin Raut, Mukul Wasnik, Vilas Muttemwar, Ashish Dua, etc., were present during the rally. I was ahead of all these leaders in the rally. How could I possibly even see Wanve when I was ahead of everybody? When I spoke to Mulak, he told me that Wanve was with him all throughout the rally and nowhere near me.”

Thakre informed that he complained to his party’s senior leaders about Wanve. Thakre also claimed that this was a conspiracy by expelled Congress leader Satish Chaturvedi. Thakre also accused Chaturvedi and his office of making calls and informing the media houses about the same. Thakre said, “Bandh kaise safal na ho, hamare beech kaise man mutav ho, yeh sab ki planning kon karta hain humein maloom hain. (We all know the person who’s planning how the bandh shouldn’t be successful and how we leaders should develop animosity towards each other).”
