Former Nagpur corporator’s son assaulted by history-sheeter

    Alok Vade (40), son of former Nagpur corporator Shashikala Vade, was assaulted by a history sheeter on Sunday evening near TV Tower, Gittikhadan.

    As per the police, the history sheeter Raja Lakhan Singh (25) had assaulted Alok’s brother-in-law a few days back. Enraged over the assault, Alok called Singh near TV tower and hurled abuses at him.

    A humiliated and angry Singh then went to Alok’s residence in Krishna Nagar and convinced him to accompany him to settle the dispute peacefully. The two men went near TV tower, where Singh started assaulting Alok. Singh hit Alok repeatedly with a stone critically injuring him. After Singh fled the spot, Alok was rushed to the hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

    Gittikhadan Police, on the basis of a complaint by Alok’s wife Pooja Vade (34), has registered a case and booked Singh under section 307 of the IPC. The cops are investigating the case further and are looking for Singh.
