Nagpur: COVID-19 death toll reaches 17 as cancer patient succumbs to coronavirus

The COVID-19 death toll in Nagpur reached 17 on Monday as a cancer patient succumbed to coronavirus at GMCH in the morning. The 50-year-old man, a resident of Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh was brought to Nagpur on June 8 following trouble in breathing for 15 days.

After getting admitted at the hospital, he tested positive for coronavirus. The patient had multiple health conditions. Apart from suffering from lung cancer, the disease had affected his brain as well. He was also suffering from pneumonia. On the morning of June 15, the patient suffered a cardiac arrest. In spite of resuscitation, the patient could not be revived back.

Till now 17 people have lost their lives to COVID-19 in Nagpur. 5 out of these 17 people were not from Nagpur but were admitted at city hospitals for treatment. As of 1 pm on June 15, Nagpur has recorded 1,034 cases of coronavirus. 615 patients have already been discharged after recovering from coronavirus.
