Nagpur Obstetrics and Gynecological Society (NOGS) celebrated Mother’s Day in a unique way as it organised a virtual walk/run for mothers. The run was organised for the members in association with FOGSI- the national association of Gynaecologists.

During the event, nearly 50 participants from all over Nagpur logged in on ZOOM app and did a virtual walk with noted ultra cyclist and endurance athlete Dr Amit Samarth. These members walked 2,70,000 steps collectively during the event. All the steps were tracked by pedometers and also uploaded online by each individual.

Apart the virtual walk/run event, there were also some other activities virtually held by NOGS members to celebrate Mother’s Day. While Dr Chaitanya Shembekar wrote an article about Mother’s Day titled ‘Aaicha Janma,’ Dr Anuradha Ridhorkar conducted a radio talk on ‘to be a mom or not to be.’ In a group photo activity, NOGS members shared photos of themselves with their mothers as well as with their children. Dr Rohini Patil with knitted knockers distributed knockers for free for breast cancer survivors.

The coordinators of different events held on ‘Mother’s Day’ were Dr Seema Dande and Dr Rupeshri Bhoyar. President Dr Vaidehi Marathe and Honouray Secretary Dr Rajasi Sengupta took great efforts for the success of the events.
