Nagpur journalist critical after attempting suicide for not getting full salary in lockdown

A journalist named Dilip Dupare working with Marathi daily Tarun Bharat in Nagpur attempted suicide for allegedly getting only half his salary in lockdown. Dupare a resident of Nagpur North near Shende Nagar was rushed to Mayo Hospital  on Sunday and is said to be on ventilator.

Dr Sagar Pandey Deputy Superintendent at Mayo Hospital told Nation Next, “He had consumed poison and some other drug too. He’s critical; on ventilator now.”

DCP Zone V Neelotpal told Nation Next, “He consumed poison at his home on 18th late night. He was rushed to Mayo Hospital. He’s not in a condition to give a statement. Whenever he is out of danger, we’ll record his statement.”
