Nagpur man arrested for killing his one-month-old nephew

Nagpur man Ganesh Borkar (41) was arrested for allegedly stabbing his one-month-old nephew after a quarrel with the baby’s mother. The incident took place on Wednesday at Borkar’s in-law’s house at Parseoni village where his wife was staying due to the couple’s frequent quarrels.

An official from Parseoni Police Station said that Borkar was upset as his wife had left his home due to their frequent quarrels and was living at her parent’s place in Parseoni.

On Monday, Borkar visited his in-laws’ house, where his wife’s younger sister Rupali Pande and her one-month-old baby were present. Borkar asked Rupali about his wife’s whereabouts as she wasn’t present in the house then. Soon a heated argument followed after Borkar asked Rupali why her family wasn’t sending his wife back.

Borkar in a fit of rage stabbed the baby who was asleep with a knife and fled. The baby received stomach injuries and was rushed to a hospital were he was declared dead upon arrival.

Borkar was arrested on Tuesday and booked under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
