After death threats, 3 bullets fired at Nagpur Mayor Sandip Joshi

Two miscreants on bike fired three bullets at Nagpur Mayor Sandip Joshi while he was returning from a near by dhaba at Wardha Road at Tuesday night.

Two miscreants on bike fired three bullets at Nagpur Mayor Sandip Joshi while he was returning from a near by dhaba at Outer Ring Road on Wardha Road at Tuesday night. Joshi, who had gone out to celebrate his 24th wedding anniversary along with 35-40 friends, had earlier received two threat letters in NMC’s complaint box against removing encroachments. Joshi was driving mayor’s official vehicle Toyota Fortuner.

Joshi’s close aide Anoop Sawaitul, who was present at the time of the incident, confirmed the incident. Two unidentified persons on a bike came from behind and fired three bullets at Joshi’s Fortuner. While one bullet hit the driver’s side window, another hit the passenger window behind him. The third hit the backside of the vehicle.
