Anil Kokate, General Manager (administration) at Maha Metro, told Nation Next, “One out of three coaches would be reserved for women. Usually such coaches are named as ‘Ladies Coach’ or ‘Mahila Coach,’ so we named the women’s coach as ‘Naari Shakti Coach’ in the wake of women empowerment.”

Janak Kumar Garg, Executive Director (Rolling Stock) said that the coach would have CCTVs and panic button to ensure safety of women commuters.

However, as per senior officials, it has been said that there is a possibility of PM Narendra Modi inaugurating Nagpur Metro rail in the presence of CM Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Kokate, speaking about the same, told Nation Next, “There’s a possibility but nothing has been confirmed yet. The decision lies with the state government.”
