On Tuesday, first lot of masks had been provided at one of the depots. However, MSRTC Nagpur moderator Nilesh Belsare assured that from Wednesday morning onwards, the masks will be available at all the eight depots across the city. Belsare took the step after MSRTC Mumbai issued a communiqué on March 16.

The eight depots include Ramtek, Umred, Saoner, Katol, Imamvada, Wardhaman Nagar, Ghat Road and Ganeshpeth. There are total 800 operational buses in these depots wherein around 750 workers are working. To protect the passengers and workers, who often come in touch with each other while buying tickets and paying money, the MSRTC has taken the decision avoid the widespread of the deadly virus.

Apart from this, the department will also ensure proper cleaning, sanitising and timely cleaning of the buses.
