Nagpur Police arrested dreaded gangster Santosh Ambekar under POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) against production warrant for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl. Ambekar has been sent to police custody till January 3, 2020. When we spoke to DCP Crime Gajanan Rajmane, he said, “Ambekar has been kept in PCR (Police Custody Remand) till January 3 at Lakadganj Police Station in a rape case pertaining to a minor girl from Nagpur. Co-accused Vivek Singh Thakur, a salon owner, too has been given PCR. In all, a total of 12 cases have been registered against Ambekar.”

Reportedly, Thakur had introduced Ambekar to the minor when the gangster once visited the salon. Ambekar allegedly lured the minor to come to his office in Itwari after she had shared a problem of hers with him. When the minor went to the gangster’s office after Thakur had assured her that Ambekar would help her address the problem, Ambekar allegedly made some undue advances towards her that left the girl horrified. Soon, the minor’s parents filed a complaint at Lakadganj Police Station against Ambekar and his friend.
