Nagpur Police arrest men ferrying liquor worth Rs 12 lakh in car with ‘essential services’ tag

Amid lockdown, Nagpur Police have arrested four men for ferrying liquor worth Rs 12.11 lakh in a car, which had ‘essential services’ tag on it.

As per a report in TOI, when Tehsil Police led by PI Jayesh Bhandarkar got a tip-off about the car carrying liquor, the police started checking vehicles at all check posts. After the police intercepted the car, they confiscated the liquor and arrested four men – Rahul Sadarvate, Kalpesh Nandanvar, Ganesh Sadarvate and Roshan Barapatre. The men had put up the tag ‘Essential services with chemist shop’ on the car.

The men were produced before the court on Monday and were remanded in custody till April 29.
