Nagpur Police arrest Telangana politician’s son for raping city LLB student

Nagpur Police on Friday arrested a Telangana politician’s son for allegedly raping a city LLB student between March and November in 2019. Wadi Police registered case of rape against the accused, identified as Yogeshwar Patil, and produced him before the court, which sent him to judicial custody till March 18.

Patil is said to have clicked some objectionable pictures of the survivor and was threatening to send the pictures to her family if she did not comply with his demands. Wadi Police is reportedly trying to seize the pictures from the accused.

As per the police, Patil and the survivor both hail from the same village in Telangana and were classmates from Std V to Std X. For further education, while the survivor came to Nagpur to pursue LLB, Patil enrolled himself in the BBA course in Telangana.

Last year, Patil got in touch with the survivor and both of them started chatting over texts. Gradually both of entered into a relationship. It is during the time of their relationship that Patil took the survivor ro Surabuldi and allegedly exploited her in the shrubs.

As Patil stated harassing her with the pictures, the survivor narrated the ordeal to her parents, who approached Wadi Police on March 8 and lodged a complaint against Patil. With the help of mobile tracking, the cops were able to ascertain that Patil was in Nagpur on March 13. Wadi Police zeroed in on the accused and arrested him on the same day.
