→ Nagpur Police Commissioner Dr K Venkatesham on Saturday inaugurated the cyber complaint cell at the crime branch. ACP Ashwini Patil will be the in-charge of this cell.

→ Speaking to the media after the inauguration, Dr K Ventaesham said, “Citizens will not have to run between police stations and cyber cell any more to lodge a complaint regarding defamation on social media. All the cyber crime complaints will be dealt with under one roof now onward. The cyber complaint cell will give instant relief to the victim.”

→ Stressing on the need of a cell like this, the Dr K Venkatesham added, “As the use of internet is growing, cyber crimes such as online frauds are also growing rapidly these days. In most of such offenses, the accused remains unknown.”

→ The commissioner gave an assurance of reduction in cyber crime in the city as he said, “As per our records, cyber crimes double up every passing year. Our cyber cell experts are capable of solving tricky cases. All these experts were trained at Maharashtra Police Academy. In the future, more officials will be engaged.”
