Nagpur Police nab history-sheeter for abducting Sachin Medicos owner’s brother, demanding Rs 3 crore ransom

Nagpur’s Rana Pratap Nagar Police on April 13 arrested a history-sheeter for abducting Sachin Medicos owner’s brother and demanding Rs 3 crore as ransom. The history-sheeter had also extorted money from the brothers before the kidnapping. Police had booked the history-sheeter when the crime had taken place and was on a lookout for him since a long time.

As per the police, Sachin Medicos owner Sachin Jainendrakumar Badjate (42) had taken Rs 1,18,00,000 from Rakesh Vasudev Dekate (39) from June 2014 to November 2014 as a loan for his business. For the next three years, Dekate issued countless death threats to Sachin and his elder brother Shreyansh Badjate and recovered Rs 1,80,00,000 instead of Rs 1,18,00,000.

Even after extorting money, Dekate kept issue death threats to Sachin. Dekate finally kidnapped Shreyansh and demanded Rs 3 crore even as he brandished a revolver in front of him. Sachin had then filed a complaint against Dekate, who fled his house to avoid arrest by police. Dekate, however, applied for bail, which was rejected by the court.

On April 13, the police got a tip-off about Dekate hiding at his home in Nagpur. Rana Pratap Nagar Police soon reached Dekate’s house and arrested him. Dekate has been sent to PCR till April 20.
