Nagpur Police, in the wee hours of Sunday (at 1.15 am), raided the Villa 55 restaurant situated at Canal Road, Gokulpeth, in Nagpur. Post the raid Baljeet Singh Osan, the owner of the restaurant, was booked by Ambazari Police Station for keeping the restaurant open past the permissible time.
The raid was carried out under the guidance of Zone 4 DCP Nilesh Bharne. While Osan was booked by the police under relevant sections of the Bombay Police Act for running the restaurant till late, some media reports suggest that Hookah among other eatables was being served at the restaurant.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Nagpur and Rural Police conducted raids on various hookah parlours at different places in the city. Crime Branch of Rural police raided a restaurant on Dahegoan road and seized six hookah pots and two containers of flavoured tobacco during the raid.
