Nagpur Police under Safe and Smart City Project received three Mobile Surveillance Vehicles (MSV) and five drones on August 15 in the presence of Guardian Minister of Nagpur Chandrashekhar Bawankule.

As per a report in TOI, with distinctive features, the MSVs would be helpful during crucial and emergency situations such as mishaps, major events, rallies, etc. L&T Construction’s unit – Smart World and Communications – has installed advanced technology features in the MSV including Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) camera, body worn camera (with 10 TB storage) and fixed box cameras.

The drone, which is controlled by remotes, comprises a high-resolution 360 degrees rotating camera along with an inbuilt GPS system that transmits data to MSV’s mini control room and control centre of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).

A team comprising Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited (NSSCDCL) CEO Ramnath Sonware, DCP Raj Tilak Roushan, L&T Project Director C Chockalingam and Project Manager Ajay Ramteke conceptualised the idea and designed the MSVs and drones.
