Nagpur Police saves 19-year-old boy who jumped in Futala Lake to commit suicide

Timely efforts by Crime Branch Unit 2 of Nagpur Police saved the life of a 19-year-old boy, who jumped in Futala Lake to commit suicide in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.

The cops, while travelling from Ambazari Zone to Gittikhadan Zone during the night patrolling, got information about a boy jumping in Futala Lake at around 4:15 am. The cops quickly reached the Futala and started searching for the boy later identified as Saurav Prakash Gulalkari, a resident of Mahavir Nagar in Nagpur.

In the lake they spotted Saurabh, who had frantically moving his hands in the water. Without wasting anytime, the cops got in the water and rescued the boy with the help of a rope. Nagpur Police officials involved in saving the life of the youngster included: Sub-inspector Sumit Parteki, Police constables Prakash Wankhede and Vijay Lekurwale, and night constable Baljeet Singh Thakur.
