Nagpur Police, on Sunday, confiscated 40 kgs of Ganja amounting to Rs 4 lakh in two different cases in Dhantoli and Ganeshpeth.

On Sunday, the anti-narcotics cell acting on a tip-off received by API Dilip Chandan arrested two people near Deepak Restaurant, Santra Market. The two accused – Nayena Ramna Rajshekhar (23) and Baladi Adinarayan Anjaneyulu (38), both residents of Andhra Pradesh – were in possession of 20.444 kgs of Ganja worth Rs 2, 04,440. A case was immediately registered against the two accused at Ganeshpeth Police Station under sections 20, 29 and 8 (K) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.

Cops with the accused after his arrest from Rahate Square, Nagpur

In another incident, a man named Qadir Ali Afsar Ali (35), a resident of Ballarshah, was nabbed by the police near the bus stop at Rahate Square. The cops recovered 20.016 kgs of Ganja worth Rs 2, 00,160 from Qadir, who has been booked under section 20 of the NDPS Act by Dhantoli Police.
