Keeping in mind the extended lockdown till May 3, Nagpur Police have decided to engage citizens in fight against Coronavirus through COVID Yoddha Yojana.

Keeping in mind the extended lockdown till May 3, Nagpur Police have decided to engage citizens in its fight against Coronavirus through the COVID Yoddha Yojana. Dr BK Upadhyay, Police Commissioner, informed about the same in a communique to media persons.

As part of the campaign, Nagpur Police will involve the community in the following ways:

→ Every police station will engage six auto rickshaws with public announcement system

→ One citizen and one cop will team up to constantly make announcements to create awareness and ensure lockdown implementation in slums, market places, congested areas, banks, etc.

→ From every area, at least five persons will be appointed as COVID Yoddha. These people will work as special police officers and will ask people to maintain social distance.

→ Caps and whistles will be given to COVID Yoddhas appointed by the police.

→ At least 30 to 35 citizens will work with every police station in the city in the initial stage of the implementation of the campaign.
