In order to ensure public safety and avoid violation of law, Nagpur Police is planning to maintain a record of all the food delivery boys especially those working late night and early morning for food delivery apps namely – Zomato, Swiggy and Uber Eats. The above three online food apps will have to provide specific details including the nature and time of work of their delivery boys at their respective police stations. Speaking to Nation Next, Nagpur DCP (Zone II) Vinita Sahu said, “We had conducted a meeting on this particular issue post seeing a bunch of delivery boys, waiting for their orders in front of restaurants at 3 am while patrolling.”

Vinita Sahu added, “We’ve also spoken to all the concerned authorities of these food delivery apps to mention their workers’ details for the police record. At times, female students or senior citizens order their food late nights. This might pose a risk to them. We’ll also be speaking to city’s hotel owners operating after 1:30 am to not operate after the stipulated time and urge them to abide by it.”
