Nagpur skater Nikhilesh Tabhane wins Bronze medal in China

International skater from Nagpur, Nikhilesh Tabhane, on Saturday, won a Bronze medal at the Speed Staking Championship held in China.

International skater from Nagpur, Nikhilesh Tabhane, on Saturday, made the city proud by winning a Bronze medal at the Haining Open International Speed Staking Championship held in China. Tabhane was the only Indian skater to reach the final.

Tabhane, secured the Bronze medal, as he finished third in the 500 meters men’s round. The Indian skater clocked 43.330 seconds at the end of the race. The Gold and the Silver medals were won by Willy Lo (China, 42.873 secs) and Yen Chi (Chinese Taipei, 43.211 secs) respectively.

Tabhane, who is often referred to as India’s fastest speed skater, won the Asian Bronze medal in 2016. The skater owns a skates academy (Nikhilesh Tabhane Skates World), which aims at promoting roller sports at larger level to uplift talented athletes in India.
