Despite the unexpected rains and thunderstorms that brought much needed relief to Nagpurians few days back, as per weather forecast site ‘AccuWeather,’ Nagpur currently is facing ‘dangerous heat’ daily. As per the same reports, the situation is likely to continue for a week. The cities other than Nagpur to face equally intense heat include – Hyderabad, Patna, Indore, Lucknow and New Delhi.
However, another forecaster ‘Skymet’ predicted isolated rain and thundershower activities in Nagpur, Parbhani, Latur, Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara.
With temperature above 44 °C, cases of citizens dying due to heat wave have increased manifold in the city. Heat wave recently claimed the lives of 10 people in the city within 48 hours. On May 28, Chandrapur (with 47.8°C) and Nagpur (with 47.5°C) became the hottest and the third hottest city in the world respectively.
