Nagpur youngsters come up with city’s first web series ‘Drishtibhram’ on Amazon Prime

Nagpur youngsters Piyush Pande and Aditya Sharma came up with city’s first web series ‘Dhristibhram' that got a release on Amazon Prime.

Original web series ‘Drishtibhram’ (crime thriller) produced by Nagpur youngster Piyush Pande under the banner – Piyush Pande Films – recently got a release on Amazon Prime (in UK and US). Drishtibhram is Nagpur’s first ever web series that has been released on a platform as huge as Amazon Prime. It has been directed by city youngster Aditya Sharma and been shot extensively in Nagpur with local cast and crew.

The web series would also be releasing simultaneously on MX player (worldwide), Vodafone Play and on ShemarooMe App. As per the team, the potential reach of the web series is expected to be approximately around 100 million viewers.  

“Keeping in mind the growing demand of web series and online content, we decided to make a web series in Nagpur. Our aim was to make a world class web series using only local talents”, said Piyush Pande.

Pande further said, “Aditya Sharma was given the task of directing the series.  And he’s done his job very well. Aditya, who has had achieved various awards for his short films, had the required credibility to execute the web series to perfection.”

The series features Leonard Leo in the lead role,  “Being a crime thriller, I wanted to have a perfect cast for the film, and Leonard Leo was my number one choice. He has done numerous theatre shows all over India. His acting skills have always impressed me beyond words”, said Aditya Sharma.

Leonard Leo, the main lead said, “It was a challenge to play the character of an accused killer.  I had to be calm as well as aggressive.  All the actors in this web series have acted brilliantly by complementing each other.”

While city’s ace cinematographer Kundan Sad has shot the entire run-time of the show, Pawan Piprode handled the visual post production part of the series.

The background score along with the main theme is designed, composed and arranged by Ambar Bhartiya. Written by Ankit Bhuptani, Drishtibhram is a crime thriller where a psychologist is summoned to profile an accused criminal Shivam Bhargav.
