An engineer by profession, Nagpur’s Apurva Pathekar was declared as the first runner up during the Global Mr and Miss International India Universe 2019 presented by Global India Entertainment Production. A resident of Civil Lines, Apurva participated in the beauty pageant that took place at Riva Beach Resort in Goa in the month of May.
Daughter of Ganesh Prasad and Suwarna, Apurva works as a software engineer in Accenture in Pune. A student of Centre Point School from Nagpur, Apurva perused a degree in engineering in the field of computer science from city’s GH Raisoni College.
However, this wasn’t Apurva’s first stint in the world of modeling. Earlier too, she’d participated in Femina Miss India from Nagpur along with her contemporaries Lopamudra Raut, etc. Apurva said, “I auditioned from Pune and got shortlisted from almost 3000 contestants.”
Speaking about her preparations and diet, Apurva said, “From the moment I was selected, I didn’t touch junk food! I exercised daily and juggled between my work and preparations for the contest. I want to pursue modeling as a career but also intend to earn money out of it.”
Out of the 3000 contestants, around 160 contestants were shortlisted, who went through a four-day grooming sessions by renowned personalities. Apurva added, “Show director Allie Sharma did our portfolio and fashion shoots. Bollywood actor Dino Morea along with Kirti Narang, Ankit Nagpal, Varun Katyal were the judges during the finale.”
