Panic and fear gripped the residents of Manjidana Colony near Katol Road in Nagpur on Wednesday after reports of spotting a leopard in the area surfaced. Some locals even claimed of hearing the leopard growling so they immediately alerted the forest department. The residents had also claimed the leopard had taken refuge at a dilapidated building.

Speaking to Nation Next, Kundan Hate, forest officer said, “Upon receiving the complaint, our team reached the spot and inspected the area, but we couldn’t find any concrete evidence of the same. In fact, the person who alerted us even said that ‘thought’ of spotting a leopard but wasn’t 100 % sure of it.”

He added, “Earlier as well such stories had circulated but like this time, even they were false.”
