Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy while criticising the Indian education system said that about 80-85 per cent youngsters aren’t suitably trained for any job. He said that this problem exists because Indian education system focuses more on rote learning rather than problem solving.
Murthy, while interacting with students at Asian College of Journalism in Chennai, said that India is lagging behind UK, US, etc., in creating a positive startup atmosphere for youngsters. He said, “India is not at the forefront when it comes to start-up culture. In comparison to US, UK, Germany or China, I don’t think we’re anywhere close.”
He advised the youngsters to first decide the area they want to become an entrepreneur and urged them join a firm in the same field to understand everything about sales, marketing and human resources.
