BSP chief Mayawati on Tuesday claimed that India had been under ‘undeclared emergency’ during the BJP regime for the past four years. She even held the BJP responsible for ‘suffocating’ and ‘harassing’ the people due to the present situation.

She further said that the attitude of the BJP leaders and workers at the Centre as well as in the state was against the interest of the poor, labours, backward people and Dalits.

According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, the BSP leader in her statement said, “The country faces a financial emergency due to demonetisation and has been facing a situation akin to an undeclared emergency for the last four years.” The BSP chief also accused the BJP of ‘losing all moral rights.’

Mayawati even urged the BJP and PM Modi to introspect the situation and to come up with a solution to tackle issues like poverty, unemployment and inflation and prove their patriotism.

As per the same report, Mayawati said, “Making tall claims about patriotism had become their habit to hide the anti-people policies. The reservation facility had almost been made defunct and ineffective and the private sector was being promoted in a big way under the BJP rule.”
