Nirbhaya gang rape case: All four convicts to be hanged tomorrow at 5:30 am

All the four convicts of the Nirbhaya gang rape case will be hanged tomorrow (March 20) at 5:30 am at Tihar Jail.

In December 2012, six people namely Mukesh Kumar Singh (32), Pawan Gupta (25), Vinay Kumar Sharma (26), Akshay Kumar Singh (26), Ram Singh and a juvenile raped a 23-year-old girl in a moving bus in Delhi and later brutally assualted her and her friend. the, who came to be called as ‘Nirbhaya’ succumed to her injuries at a Singapore Hospital a few days later.

While the juvenile was let go in December 2015, Ram Singh allegedly committed suicide at Tihar Jail during the trial. The remaining four convicts will now be hanged tomorrow.

With the execution date nearing, the four convicts have been filing multiple mercy pleas and resorted to other legal ways to avoid the death sentence. Speaking about the death sentence tomorrow Nirbhaya’s mother said, “Tomorrow, the convicts will be hanged. My daughter and all the girls in India will finally get justice.”
