Nitin Gadkari appeals citizens to work towards pollution-free Nagpur

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari appealed the citizens to work towards a pollution-free Nagpur.

On the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, at his residence in Ramnagar, Nagpur, appealed the citizens to work towards a pollution-free Nagpur.

During the event, which was organised under the leadership of BJP leader Jaiprakash Gupta, Gadkari made the citizens take an oath to safeguard the environment. Gadkari, during the event, asked for people’s participation in order to make Nagpur a beautiful, clean, green and pollution-free smart city. He also urged people to work towards making Nagpur an accident-free, plastic-free and cancer-free city. The Union Minister while addressing the citizens said, “Once the metro operations start full-fledgedly in Nagpur, it will help in curbing pollution. Secondly, the use of green buses and electric vehicles will also reduce pollution.”

Jaiprakash Gupta further urged environment lovers and members of different NGOs to spare at least five minutes every day for working towards a healthy environment. During the event, posters to create environmental awareness, cloth bags and sticks to pick up plastic bags were distributed among the citizens. Post this, a skating and a bicycle rally was flagged off.
