Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, on Friday, warned the road contractors of serious consequences if they were found to be indulging in corruption.
Gadkari, while speaking at a public function in Betul, Madhya Pradesh, which was also attended by MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, said, “The contractors have to make sure that the work is being carried out in a proper manner. I have told them that if they indulge in corruption, they will find themselves under the bulldozer instead of crushed stones.”
Addressing the people, Gadkari said that road contractors never contact him at his office in New Delhi. The Union Minister added that not even a single rupee can be attributed to corruption in construction of roads. Gadkari also asserted that the money does not belong to contractors but to the people of India.
